MEET THE PERSON BEHIND THE LENS
Madeleine Wallach
Originally from Middleburg, Virginia, I graduated from The University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Arts in Photography, Media and Global Sustainability. Coming from a family of photographers, I grew up experiencing the world from behind the lens. My idols early in my career were street photographers such as Robert Frank and Sally Mann, inspiring me to capture the world exactly how it is.
There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.

My photography has always leaned towards a more documentary style, striving to capture a single moment in time. I enjoy being able to stay present in my work and rather than be caught up in the stylization of it, to simply trust my eye and the camera. Often times the best image are the spontaneous ones.
